There are too many short run investors, or correctly speaking they are short run speculators, who are unwilling to hold any kind of stocks for even 2~3 days.
Besides financial knowledge, an value investor needs too much courage and persistence before success.

Why not exercise "share buy-backs"? It is easy, economy and effective in maximising NAV per share and future EPS.
